Wi-Fi Not Working on Lenovo? Try Troubleshooting Methods

Wi-Fi Not Working on Lenovo? Try Troubleshooting Methods

If your Wi-Fi is not working on a Lenovo Laptop or if it refuses to connect to the network, it may be due to incorrect network settings. This may also happen when you try to connect your device to a new network or if you have recently changed/upgraded the hardware.

As the problem can be triggered by both software and hardware issues, we’ll check the fixes for both problems to get your device’s Wi-Fi up and running again.

Perform these basic troubleshooting steps first to see if they solve the issue

  • Press the Fn + F5 or F8 keys to Enable Wi-Fi
  • Disable Airplane mode from the Action center
  • Toggle the Wi-Fi hardware switch to ON (available on select Lenovo models)
  • Perform a cold boot on your Lenovo device
  • Restart the Wi-Fi router
  • Disable any VPNs and/or proxy settings

Table of Contents

Run the Network Troubleshooter

The first solution is to run the network troubleshooter. The troubleshooter tries to detect any issues with the hardware and tries to solve it. If the troubleshooter fails to solve the problems, it will then suggest solutions to help fix the issue.

  1. Press the Windows key + I to open Settings
  2. From the System tab, go to
    TroubleshootOther troubleshooters
  3. On the Network adapter, click on Run
    run network troubleshoot
  4. On the troubleshoot window, select the Wi-Fi adapter and click on Next
    wifi adapter troubleshoot
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts and solve any issues
  6. Restart your device if prompted and see if the Wi-Fi works again

Reconnect Devices

Another solution is to disconnect and forget the device from the network. The process will remove all the configurations and settings of the network. After then, reconnect it to fix the issue.

To disconnect the device,

  1. Open Settings and click on the Network & Internet tab
    wifi settings
  2. Now click on
    Wi-Fi> Manage Known Networks
    manage known networks
  3. From the list, click on Forget to remove the network information from your device
    forget known networks
  4. Enter the security key and SSID (if necessary) to reconnect to the network

Turn off Location Services

If the Wi-Fi signal on your Lenovo device is fluctuating and is not stable, it might be due to errors caused by Location Settings. Some users have reported that turning the service off has solved the Wi-Fi stability issue.

  1. Open Settings and click on the Privacy & Security tab
  2. Scroll down and from the App permissions, click on Location
    location settings
  3. Inside, click on the Location services toggle to deactivate the service
    disable location settings
  4. See if the network reliability issue is solved

Enable Wireless Adapter

The wireless module communicates and sends/receives signals on your device. If it is disabled, the device will fail to connect and communicate wirelessly. To fix this, enable the wireless adapter from the control panel or the device manager

  1. Press Windows key + R to open Run
  2. Type control to open Control panel
    control panel
  3. Now, Click on the following options
Network and Internet> Network and Sharing Centre
    network and sharing
  4. On the left, click on Change adapter settings
    change adapter settings
  5.  Right click on the wireless network and click on Enable. You will need administrator privileges to change this setting
    enable wireless adapter

To enable the Wireless adapter from the Device Manager

  1. Open Run and type devmgmt.msc to open the Device Manager
  2. On the Device manager, double-click on Network Adapters to expand it
  3. Right-click on the wireless adapter and then click on Enable
    enable wireless device
  4. Try to connect to a network and see if it works

Enable WLAN Services

If the WLAN service is disabled, it can cause your Lenovo device to stop discovering and connecting to any wireless networks. This effectively stops the network services and posts this error. To remedy this problem, you will need to enable the WLAN service from Windows Services

  1. Open Run and type services.msc to open Windows Services
  2. From the list, search for WLAN AutoConfig and double-click to open it
    wlan auto config
  3. On General, click on Start to enable the service. Also set the Startup type to Automatic
    wlan configuration
  4. Click on Apply and OK to save changes

Reset TCP/IP Stack

Another method to solve this error is to reset the TCP/IP stack. This process resets the DHCP and the TCP/IP configuration from the system registry by restoring the values to default.

  1. Open Run and type cmd
  2. Press the Shift + Ctrl + Enter keys to open the command prompt with elevated access
  3. On the command console, type the following and press the Enter key after each line
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /renew
    netsh int ip reset
    netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset <File directory:\>resetlog.txt
[eg: netsh int ip reset C:\resetlog.txt]
    int ip reset log
  4. Close the command prompt and restart your device to complete the process

Update/Reinstall Drivers

For this fix, first, update any existing Network adapter drivers. If that fails to solve the issue, uninstall the drivers and install them again.

To update the drivers,

  1. Open Run and type devmgmt.msc to open the Device manager
  2. From the list, double-click on Network adapters to expand it
  3. Right-click on the wireless network adapter and select Update device
    update driver
  4. Select if you want to perform a manual or automatic update
    driver update automatic manual
  5. Restart the device after the process completes

To uninstall the drivers,

  1. On the Device manager, right-click on the driver and click on Uninstall device
    uninstall driver
  2. If a confirmation box appears, click on Uninstall again to proceed
    uninstall confirm
  3. Restart your device to complete the process

If the drivers are not installed automatically after a restart, you will need to download them from the adapter manufacturer’s support page.

Reset Network

Another common solution is to reset the network from Windows Settings. This setting will then forget any saved network and device information.

  1. Press the Windows key + I to open Settings
  2. From the Network & internet tab, click on the Advance network settings
    network and internet
  3. Scroll down and click on Network reset
    network reset
  4. Click on Reset now and on the confirmation, click on Yes to proceed
    reset now
  5. Wait for the restart process to complete and then see if the issue is solved

Reset BIOS Settings

The final software fix is to reset any changes made to the BIOS. By changing the BIOS settings to default, you will also revert any configurations made to the hardware. Naturally, this process will also restore any settings made to the network hardware as well.

  1.  Restart your device and repeatedly press the BIOS key to gain access
  2. On the BIOS, search for setting that restores the BIOS to its default setting
    reset bios
  3. Press the associated key and reboot your device normally
  4. See if the Wi-Fi works on your Lenovo device now

Check Hardware

The last solution is to check the hardware. If the devices are loose or are inserted incorrectly, reseat them and restart your device to see if they work properly.

For desktops,

  1. Turn off your PC and remove the power cables
    power cable
  2. Press the power button for at least 10 seconds to remove any residual power
    power button pc
  3. Remove the side panel to gain access to the internals
  4. If you have a Network expansion card installed, reseat it

For laptops,

  1. Turn off your laptop and remove the battery
    remove battery laptop
  2. If the battery is non-removable, remove the back cover and disconnect the battery from the motherboard
  3. Press the power button for at least 10 seconds to remove any residual charges
    laptop power button
  4. Disconnect any cables attached to the wireless module and remove it from the slot
  5. Reconnect the wires and reseat the wireless module
    reseat wireless module

Reboot your device and see if the operating system detects the hardware. If the problem persists, you may need to install a new, supported wireless module to fix the issue.

How to Create a Logo for Free

How to Create a Logo for Free

Create a Logo

When it comes to a company’s image, the logo is the most important part. It identifies the organization in the market, displays the brand’s concept and individuality, detaches from competitors, and is closely related to marketing. Creating a logo should be simple, laying the image of the product in the consumer’s mind and causing positive emotions. In this article, we’ll explore three different ways to create a logo for free.

Logo Generators

Using a logo generator service is an easy and fast way to create a professional logo on your own. One of the most popular services is Turbologo. To create a logo, simply go to the website and enter the name of your company. The system will give you several templates. You can choose a ready-made option or create something similar yourself.

Logo Programs

For those who want to create a logo from scratch, programs like AAA Logo are a convenient tool. From the list of available logos, choose the one that is most similar to what you need. Then, edit the text and add additional elements if necessary. While the program does not generate a keyword search, it is still possible to create a logo from scratch.

Draw the Logo Yourself

For this option, basic knowledge of the Photoshop graphics editor is necessary as it provides the ability to draw in a vector or add raster blanks. The ability to create multiple layers allows for working with a huge number of objects and editing them quickly. Logos can be saved in PNG or JPEG format.

Choosing a Logo Design

To decide on the design, first, you need to choose the type of logo. There are five main types:

  1. Letter signs or logos with monograms are based on typography. They are the best option for companies with verbose names.
  1. The emblem is the oldest and most traditional type of logo.
  1. Graphic signs (icons or pictograms) are designed based on graphics.
  1. Abstract logos are geometric shapes that have no meaning.
  1. Combined signs include both icons and letters.

Creating a logo online is a simple process. If you want to obtain one quickly and easily with a limited budget, online programs are the way to go. The logo is a visual and emotional link between your business and the audience. It is important to ensure that it looks professional and conveys the intended message to show your professionalism and how you will work for your client or reader.

How to use Google Maps

How to use Google Maps

Maps are an essential tool for navigation and understanding the world around us. They have been used for centuries to represent geographical locations, features, and boundaries. From ancient maps drawn on parchment to the digital maps we use today, the evolution of maps reflects the advancements in technology and our increased understanding of the world.

Maps provide a visual representation of the earth’s surface, allowing us to see the relationships between different locations and geographical features. They can show us everything from the distribution of population, natural resources, and political boundaries to the terrain and relief of a particular area.

One of the earliest maps was created by the ancient Babylonians around 600 BCE. It was a simple plan of the city of Babylon and the surrounding region. Over time, maps became more detailed and sophisticated, incorporating advances in cartography, astronomy, and geology. By the 16th century, maps were being created using triangulation and other mathematical techniques, leading to more accurate representations of the earth’s surface.

With the advent of digital technology, maps have become even more accessible and useful. Today, digital maps are used in a variety of applications, including navigation systems in cars and smartphones, online maps and satellite imagery, and geographic information systems (GIS) used by governments and businesses.

Online maps, such as Google Maps and Apple Maps, provide a wealth of information and are highly interactive. They allow users to zoom in on specific locations, view satellite imagery, get directions, and search for businesses and attractions. These maps are constantly updated and can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection.

GIS, on the other hand, is a system used by organizations to manage, analyze, and present data related to geography. It combines digital maps with information about demographics, natural resources, and infrastructure to provide a comprehensive view of the world. GIS is used in a variety of fields, including urban planning, environmental management, and disaster response.

In addition to their practical applications, maps have also been used as a form of art. From the intricately detailed maps created during the Age of Exploration to the abstract maps used by modern artists, maps have been used to convey information, tell stories, and evoke emotions.

In conclusion, maps have been an essential tool for understanding the world for centuries, and their evolution has been driven by advances in technology and our increasing knowledge of the earth. Whether used for navigation, analysis, or art, maps continue to be a valuable tool for exploring and understanding our world.
