Iowa Wrestler Austin DeSanto faraway from Saturday night time ceremony following incident after match

ST. LOUIS (KCRG) – Iowa wrestler Austin DeSanto won’t be collaborating within the crew’s ceremonies on Saturday night time following an incident with NCAA media officers that occurred after his match on Saturday.

Iowa Wrestling coach Tom Manufacturers issued the next assertion on Saturday:

“Austin DeSanto won’t take part within the NCAA Parade of All-People or medal stand ceremony Saturday night time. DeSanto behaved inappropriately towards NCAA media officers whereas exiting the mat this afternoon and after consulting with the NCAA Wrestling Committee and our administration, now we have made an institutional choice to withhold him from tonight’s actions.”

DeSanto issued the next assertion in response:

“My habits towards the NCAA media officers previous to the post-match interview was unsuitable and I owe all these concerned a honest apology. My language and habits was inappropriate and inexcusable. I’ve spoken with Tom and I perceive and agree with the choice.”

DeSanto received two matches on Saturday and completed his event 5-1, taking 3rd place.

Iowa’s Spencer Lee, Jaydin Eierman, and Michael Kemerer are set to wrestle in Saturday night time’s championship matches at 6:00 P.M. on ESPN.
